Raised in Greenwood, MS, she resided in Vinings, GA, for the past fifty years. She was a member of the First Baptist of Smyrna, Georgia. She was the first woman certified by FHA/Hud as a construction analyst/inspector in GA. She was a member of the Martha Berry chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the Society editor of the Morning Star newspaper in Greenwood.
She is preceded in death by husbands Everett H. Newman and Grover L. Richardson, Sr. She is survived by her children Grover L. Richardson, JR. of Winston, GA, Sheri Richardson of Seattle, WA, and Shaun Cullen of Jasper, GA; six grandchildren and one great grandson. She is also survived by her sisters Alberta Johnston and Inez Parsell of Sanford, FL.
