MADISON - Catherine Teasdale Abplanalp, age 85, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007. She was born on July 29, 1921, in Shullsburg, to Burdette "Pete" and Mary "Mae" (Doran) Teasdale.

Catherine attended Willow Dale Grade School, graduated from Darling High School in 1939, and from Platteville State Teachers College in 1943. She married Alex Abplanalp on Feb. 7, 1948, in Darlington. Catherine was a teacher at Evansville, West Bend, Monroe, and at Frank Allis Elementary School, Madison. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, and state, local, and national teachers organizations.

Catherine is survived by her children, A. J. Abplanalp of Clear Lake, Iowa, Susan Abplanalp of Franklin, and Andrew (Sue) Abplanalp of Cottage Grove; four grandchildren, Brad, Aaron, Nick and Lauren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex; her parents; a sister, Marian; and two brothers, George and Foster "Jiggs".

Catherine will be missed at the Meriter Heights, as she spent many hours helping others, which also gave her great comfort.

Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007.

TEASDALE-ABPLANALP

In a single-ring ceremony performed at 10 this morning in the Holy Rosary church, Darlington, Miss Catherine Teasdale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burdette Teasdale, Darlington, became the bride of Alexander Abplanalp, son of Mrs. Frieda Abplanalp, Arena. Rev. John E Doran, uncle of the bride, read the nuptials.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister-in-law Mrs. Foster Teasdale, with Mrs. Harold Abplanalp as bridesmaid. George Teasdale, brother of the bride, served as best man and Harold Abplanalp was groomsman. Miss Mary Ellen Schmitz, cousin of the bride, was soloist.

A reception was held for the immediate families at the home of the bride's parents immediately following the ceremony. After a wedding trip to the south, Mr. and Mrs. Abplanalp will be at home in Mt. Horeb where he is employed as cheese maker. Mrs. Abplanalp graduated from Darlington high school and Platteville Teachers college. She is teaching social science in the Lincoln junior high school in Monroe, and will continue in that capacity. Mr. Abplanalp is a graduate of Arena high school.
