Funeral service for Charles L. Barber, 73, of Sylacauga, will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in Anniston with Rev. Michael Price officiating. Burial will follow at Union United Methodist Cemetery in Wellington. The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Barber passed away Tuesday at Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga. Survivors include his wife, Betty Barber; daughters, DeDe Barber Van Riper and husband David, Melantha Barber Sprayberry and husband John; sons, Anthony Barber, Jonathon Barber , Richard Doster and wife Patty, John Hodge, Thomas Hodge, Donny Hodge and wife Shelia; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Elsie Isbell and brother, Isaac Barber. Mr. Barber is preceded in death by his daughter, Samantha Barber. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jerry White. Mr. Barber retired after 40 + years with perfect attendance from Avondale Mills in Sylacauga.
