Mr. Jay William (Bill) Simpson, age 73, of Cumming, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Bill was an avid golfer and loved boating, piloting airplanes, recreational vehicles and wood working. A U.S. Navy veteran, he retired from I.B.M, after 30 years of service and was a local businessman. Bill is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Mike Sample and his parents, Don Carlos and Rosa Mae Simpson.


Survivors include his wife, adopted mother, sons and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, devoted friends, and his beloved dog, Dooley. Names of survivors are omitted to protect their privacy. (ISL)

Graveside services, with military honors, will be held Friday, June 14, at 12:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery with the Rev. Don Simpson officiating.

The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Thursday, June 13, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in the name of Jay W. (Bill) Simpson to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
