Post-Standard, The (Syracuse, NY) - May 29, 1991 Services for Harold E. VanEpps, 76, of Smartville Road, who died Monday at House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sandy Creek United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Wesleyan Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Summerville Funeral Home, 8192 Harwood Drive, Sandy Creek.
Mr. VanEpps was a life resident of the town of Sandy Creek. He retired in 1979 as master mechanic and heavy equipment operator after 44 years with General Crushed Stone. His wife, the former Rayta McDougal, died in 1981. Mr. VanEpps was a graduate of Mannsville High School, where he played basketball and baseball.
Mr. VanEpps was a member of Sandy Creek United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Sandy Creek Beagle Club and Tamarack, Beach Creek and Mad River hunting and fishing clubs. He was a member of NEOSCO Horseshoe Club, the High Falls Hunting and Fishing Club and the Sandy Creek Rod and Gun Club. He was a retired member of the Lacona Fire Department.
Surviving are two daughters, Yolanda Bristol of Boyleston and DeeAnne Rumsey of Ithaca; a son, Reginald of Candor; two sisters, Gladys McDougal of Mannsville and Jean Vorndran of Mattydale; a brother, Paul of Chester, Va.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
