Granddad Anderson's nickname was "Cope". He was a brick mason and helped build several buildings, particularly churches along with his brother, Brewer (Brew) Melton Anderson. This was in Tippah County, Mississippi as well as Waco, Texas. Grandad was also a barber and at one time owned his own barber shop on the Historic Waco Square as well as one in Ripley, Mississippi. I think they loved both Mississippi and Texas so much they couldn't decide where to stay!

Covus Randolph Anderson and his brother Brewer (Brew) Melton Anderson married sisters, Evalena Byrd and Elizabeth Jane ("Lizzie") Byrd, respectively. Grandad Anderson and Uncle Brew learned masonry from some of their ancestors and then trained and passed on this art to some following descendants. I even knew some of these in my Lifetime. The children of Covus Randolph and Evalena Byrd Anderson are listed below. Our Mother is the only surviving sibling.(Information provided by granddaughter Nancy Opal Yankie, daughter of Opal Florence Anderson Yankie.)
