Mrs. William Cole, 79, passed away at her home, 230 West Douglas street, at 9 o'clock this morning following an extended illness. Funeral services will be conducted at the Kuehner chapel, South Galena avenue, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. J. M. Beck, pastor of the Methodist church at Pearl City, will conduct the services and interment will be made at Oakland. The bearers will be three sons, Abe, Charles and Frank Cole and three grandsons, Ray, Clyde and Donald Rockow.
Matilda Shippy was born at McConnell in 1854, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Shippy. Her marriage to William Cole took place July 4, 1875. She is survived by her husband and the following children, Delbert, Abe and Charles Cole and Mrs. Frank Rockow, Freeport; Frank Cole, McConnell. There are also five grandsons, Ray, Clyde and Donald Rockow, Eldred and Curt Cole. Five great grandsons also survive.
