Melanie Charnock Gardner, 43, of Montvale, VA died on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. She was born in Bedford County Memorial Hospital on March 11, 1970 to The Rev. Frederick L. Gardner and Bonnie C. Gardner. She graduated from Dinwiddie County High School in 1989, attended John Tyler Community College and worked as a CNA at Petersburg Home Health Care. Her great love was caring for children and she spent many happy hours in the church nurseries at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church and Bonsack United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her father, her maternal grandfather, Grover L. Charnock; and her paternal grandparents, Randy and Hilda Mae Gardner. She is survived by her mother and step father, Bonnie and Allen E. Fisher; her maternal grandmother, Christine Charnock; her aunt and uncle, Nina and Steve Pruitt; her uncle and aunt, Randy and Becky Gardner; her cousins, Sonya Gerish and Tammy, Carey, and Caroline Parker, Joseph and Mariel Gardner; and several other c ousins and many beloved friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Bonsack United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Tate and the Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating. Interment will follow at 4PM at the Asbury Cemetery in McKenney, VA.
