He died at 2:40 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, at his home following a long illness.
A native of Hopkinsville, he was born April 17, 1942, the son of the late George Dewey Brown and Earline Shemwell Brown Lawrence.
He was a Vietnam War Navy veteran and had worked as a counselor in Civil Service at Fort Campbell.
He was a member of Linton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn M. Brown; two daughters, Laura Brown Moore, Charleston, Mo., Susan Brown, Carmel, Ind.; two brothers, Bill and Larry Lawrence, both of Trigg County; a sister, Betty Rogers, Trigg County and one grandson.
