Sara L. Garner (86), of Marietta, GA died June 11, 2013. Born in Cherokee County, GA she resided in Marietta most of her life.

Sara was an accomplished artist -- beginning at the age of three with inspiration from her artist father, Lee Garner. Her professional career began as a portrait artist and then because of a great love for nature and her Native American roots, transitioned to a broader scope of subjects. Sara was a founding member of the Marietta Fine Arts Club. Sara devoted her entire life to artistic pursuits and the creation of art, bringing her great fulfillment and comfort throughout.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Lee (John T.) Mackey, Marietta, GA; brother Gary (Nancy Ann) Garner, Augusta, GA; nieces and nephews: Eric Bowles, Marietta, GA; Sherre (David) Watwood, Augusta, GA; Brad Garner, Augusta, GA; Craig (Joyce) Garner, Augusta, GA; Curt (Erica) Garner, Augusta, GA; 14 great-nieces and nephews; three great-great-nieces and nephews; and three step-nephews: Danny (Christine) Mackey, Canton, GA; Brian (Debbie) Mackey, Kennesaw, GA; Scott Mackey, Kennesaw, GA.

Funeral services were held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Rob Suggs officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia.
