Billy Joe Adams, age 82, of Walnut Springs, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 10, 2013, at his residence.


Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 15, 2013, in the Lawson Memorial Chapel in Walnut Springs with Brady Dempsey and Steve Durbin officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs. Pallbearers were Billy Adams, Lonnie Adams, Scotty Adams, Luke Page, Clint Rouse, and Mike Warnick.


A visitation was held from 6 until 8 P.M. on Friday, June 14, in the Lawson Memorial Chapel, Walnut Springs, Texas.


Billy Joe was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Easterly, Texas. He served with the U. S. Navy from 1948 until 1953. Billy Joe was a retired teamster.


Survivors include his daughters, Beverly Huffman and her husband, Mike, of Walnut Springs and Patricia Bland of Angleton; grandchildren, Amanda Goyer and husband, Justin, Todd Cumberland, Mindy Davis and husband, Matt, Kelly Worrell and husband, Cody, Brandon Adams and James Hardin; great-grandchildren, Kelby Davis, Emily Davis, Lily Davis, Noah Russell, Ava Goyer and Ayla Grace Worrell; sisters, Louise Lowe of Angleton and Barbara Linehan and husband, Curley, of Gonzales; brothers, Charles Adams and wife, Helen, of Rosharon and Gary Adams and wife, Dorothy,of Needville; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Quitman and Virgie L. Burch Adams; and his wife, Martha, in Feb. 2013 and several of his siblings.
