She was the wife of the late Everett C. Sherman, to whom she had been married for 51 years.
Born to the late Robert and Edith (Goff) Humes. Edith was a life-long member of Trinity Church. As a young woman she was a Sunday school teacher. Edith enjoyed knitting, especially infant clothing that she would give to friends, the church and the hospital. At one time she was a “Master” of the word search puzzles. She also enjoyed watching soap operas.
She is survived by her daughters Eleanor “Ellie” Sherman and E. Anne Sherman both of Newport, RI, and her grand dog “Alicia”.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Charles “Chuck” Humes and Robert “Bill” Humes.
