DALTON, BERKSHIRE Co., MA - Mrs. Jessie Mary (Rochelo) Turner ( 76y ) d: November 26, 1977 - of 399 High St. died Saturday at Hillcrest Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Pittsfield, daughter of the late Miles and Harriet Harrington Rochelo. She was educated in Pittsfield schools but had lived most of her life in Dalton. Mrs. Turner worked for the U.S. Treasury Department at the Crane & Co. Goverment Mill in Dalton for more than 50 years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dalton and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Mrs. Turner also worked for the Shaker Village in Hancock and was known for many years as the Cookie Lady, because of her baking ability. Her husband, Joseph G. Turner, died in 1953. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Buckley, with whom she made her home and Mrs. Steven Therrien of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother; Miles Rochelo of Lenox; three sisters, Mrs. Grace McGarry of Dalton, Mrs. Thomas Cairns of Miami, Fla.; and Mrs. Kenneth Cotton of Sunrise, Fla.; three grandchildren and two great - grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the First Congregational Chapel. Burial will be in Main Street Cemetery - Dalton, MA. END:
