Born Aug. 22, 1931, in Walkersville, he was the son of Helen F. Warner Stine and the late Chester W. Stine Sr. He was the husband of the late Nancy J. Reck Stine.
He served during the Korean conflict in the Air Force. He was in the computer industry for most of his career and enjoyed farming. He was retired from Moore Business Communications in Thurmont.
He was a member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, and a graduate of Walkersville High School. He was co-founder of the Mount Airy Civil Air Patrol and was a member of AFSM International for more than 20 years.
Surviving are son Shaun D. and wife Kelly Stine, of Japan and Williamsburg, Va.; a brother, Chester W. Stine Jr., of New Oxford, Pa.; a sister, Linda K. Stine, of Frederick; granddaughters Katherine Garten, of Williamsburg, and Margaret Garten, of Shacklefords, Va.; and great-grandchildren Anton Stanislav Vorotner, of Williamsburg, and McKenzie Marie Hughes, of Shacklefords.
He was predeceased by a brother, Nelson Stine.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.
Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Monday at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 13356 Glissans Mill Road, Mount Airy. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery
