In October of 1923, the family moved to Watertown, in Codington County, South Dakota. It was there that Victor met Irene Hansen, the daughter of Andrew and Marian (Jacobsen) Hansen. He married Irene 22 Sept 1937. In October 1937, they moved to Barron City, Wisconsin, residing in their rural farm home, near Cumberland, where they lived more than forty years. Victor and Irene had three children.
Victor farmed all his life until he retired in 1979 and was always interested in good Guernsey and Shorthorn cattle, as well as Spotted Poland hogs.
