He was born Dec. 21, 1929, in Jonesboro to the late Bill and Ruby Dillard and lived there all of his life.
He worked 32 years at Colson Caster Corp., at Mercantile Bank for five years, Riggs Wholesale for six years and Lowe's Home Center for nine years.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Coletta Dillard; a brother and his wife, Robert and Billie Jean Dillard of Antioch, Tenn.; two nephews, Max Dillard and Dickie Dillard; a brother-in-law, Coleman Lemmons of Whitney, Texas; two sister-in-laws, Ida Lambert and Demetra Kiihnl and husband Dewitt; many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an aunt, Mamie Lilly.
A private burial was held in Pine Knot Cemetery. Mitchell Funeral Home officiated.
