Mr. Whitehead was born September 4, 1941, in Choudrant, Louisiana, and lived in Wake Village most of his life.
He was a retired architectural draftsman, a member of First Baptist Church, Wake Village, an active volunteer in Dixie Youth Baseball for 26 years as well as National Director for 16 years and was an inductee to the Bowie County Bowling Hall of Fame.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Cleo Whitehead and one son, Wayne Whitehead.
He is survived by his wife: Jackie Whitehead of Wake Village, Texas; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Darren and Cindy Whitehead of Sachse, Texas; Jason Whitehead of Round Rock, Texas; his mother: Syble Whitehead of Shreveport, Louisiana; one brother: Richard Whitehead of Shreveport, Louisiana; two grandchildren: Hillary Whitehead and Mitchell Whitehead and a number of other relatives.
Entombment will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
