ROCK HILL - Mr. Alfred Neal Harris 74, died Oct. 18, 1994, at Piedmont Medical Center. Funeral will be private.
Mr. Harris, born in Rock Hill, was the son of the late Richard and Nancy Harris Harris. He retired from J.P. Stevens after 33 years of service and worked at Food Lion after his retirement. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Merrill's Marauders. He received the Purple Heart for injuries received in the India-Burma campaign. He also received the Distinguished Unit Badge, American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Catawba Ward.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Peggy Thatcher Harris; sons, Kelly Harris of Lancaster, Alfred Kenneth Harris, Darryl Harris; daughters, Mrs. Doris Medlock of Greenville, Mrs. Victoria Reynders of Fairfield, Calif., Mrs. Alice Esplin of Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren.
