Grover King Dies In Markleville

MARKLEVILLE - Grover C. King, 65, died early yesterday afternoon at his home in Markleville after a six month illness. He was born in Sandstone, WV and worked for the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad in Virginia before coming to Markleville.
After he moved to Markleville, he worked on his farm, retiring from the railroad. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen in West Virginia and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Markleville. He also was a member of the Laurel Creek Baptist Church in Sandstone, WV.
His body has been removed to the Volorous C. Rector Funeral Home in Markleville where friends may call after 1 p.m. today. Surviving Mr. King are his widow, Mrs. Sally King; three sisters: Mrs. Ella McKinney of Prime, WV, Mrs. Norma Walker of Beckley, WV and Mrs. Mannie DeHart of Parrisburg, WV; a brother, R. N. King of Beckley, WV; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Markleville. The Rev. J. Wesley Stuart of Markleville will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in Harlan Cemetery.
