Tommy was born in San Saba, Texas on Aug. 22, 1955 to Billy Jess and Betty Ann Terry.
He graduated from Brackettville High School in 1973. Tommy married his love Marquita (Shirley) on Dec. 29, 1974. They moved to Fort Stockton, where they lived until 1997, at which time they moved to Pecos.
They had 2 children, Tommy Joe Terry Jr. and Katherin Elizabeth Terry, 3 grandsons Christopher, Marcus and Adrian.
Tommy worked for 32 years at Texas New Mexico Power Company. He started with the company as a lineman and worked his way up the ladder to field supervisor for the West Texas division.
Tommy worked hard and long to provide for his family. Tommy was a devoted Christian and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and spending time with family.
Tommy was a fighter, with an undying will to live. He loved and enjoyed the simple things in life. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father Billy Jess Terry.
Survivors include his wife Marquita Terry of Pecos; his mother Betty Ann Terry of Brackettville; his son Tommy Joe Terry Jr of Rocksprings, Texas; his daughter Katherin Elizabeth Terry of Pecos; 3 grandsons, Christopher Terry of Fort Stockton, Marcus and Adrian Terry of Pecos; 3 sisters, Gail Fritter and Sherri Smith both of Carlsbad N.M.; Joy Goodwin of Waco; 1 brother, Tommy Shirley of Lubbock, and many nieces and nephews.
