She was born in Fort Dodge,Iowa to Carl & Ethel McBride Salzbrenner.She was a resident of the Ava community for the past 26 years moving from Wisconsin.She was a homemaker.On July 3,1941 she married Richard H.Sturgeon Sr in Chicago,Ill.
to this union one son was born.She was a member of the United Church of Christ.She loved bowling,
crocheting,going out to eat & especially waffles
& listening to Lawerence Welk music.She also really liked reading her Bible & being with her friends & family.She was preceded in death by her parents,her husband in 2003.She is survived by her son,Richard H.;& other relatives & friends.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.June 30,2006 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home,Ava with the Rev.Tim Brubeck officiating & cremation following.Burial of the cremains will be in the Hubbard Cem.at a later date & time.Visitation is Friday from 9 a.m.until service time.In lieu of flowers,the family requests memorial to the Salvation Army.Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home,Ava.
