Henry Cobb was born in Barnstable, Massachusetts on February 17, 1686-7. He was the son of Samuel Cobb and his wife Elizabeth Taylor. Henry married in Pomfret, Connecticut on July 31, 1731. His wife was Jemima Morse, a child of Noah Morse and Mary Johnson, Noah's first wife. She was born at Sherborn, Massachusetts in 1715. Their first five children were born in Pomfret. Sometime around 1742, they left Pomfret and moved to Orange County (now Caswell), North Carolina. They had two more children in North Carolina. There are many Cobbs living in Caswell County today, almost all are descendants of Henry's son Noah. Henry died about 1755 in Orange County. The date of the death of Jemima is unknown.
