Dorothy Elizabeth Patton of Claremont, NH died June 8, 2013 at Oceanside Nursing Home in Hampton, NH. She was born in Sutton, VT, March 29, 1922, the daughter of William Henry Hawkins and Clemma Mae (Buck) Hawkins.

She graduated from Stevens High School in 1940 and went on to marry her beloved husband, Hugh Gordon Patton on June 29, 1941 in Weathersfield, VT. He predeceased her on March 27, 1999.

After retirement they wintered in Clearwater Beach, Florida for 20 years which gave them great enjoyment and lasting memories.

She worked for the Claremont Gas Light Company for 30 years while also giving her time to the following organizations, Past Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls, Past Worthy Matron of Woodman Chapter #26, Eastern Star, Brownie and Girls Scout Leader, Past President of the BPW with which she traveled all throughout the State of NH.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lee Wallace (Patton) and her husband, Royal A. Wallace, III, of Hampton, NH, her grandson Keith Gordon Wallace and his partner, Margaret Stolley , of Seabrook Beach, NH, her granddaughter, Michele Lee Suhesky (Wallace) and her husband, Brendon Suhesky of New London, NH, her great-granddaughter, Alicia Anne Languille and her husband, Charles Languille of Bennington, NH, her great-grandson, Charles Zachary Wallace of Claremont, NH, her great-granddaughter, Danielle Lee Dorr, of Stoneham, MA and her great-granddaughter, Alexis Alanna Parliman (her "angel") of Claremont, NH.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew and loved her. She always had the right words of encouragement and praise for her loved ones and enjoyed visiting with her family to share all of her vivid accounts of past family history. She was truly a remarkable woman of faith and will be missed dearly.

There will be a graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery in Claremont, NH.
