Mrs. Blanche Virginia Hahn, 85 of Charles Town, WV and formerly of Brunswick passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Shenandoah Center in Charles Town, WV. She was born on June 17, 1926 in Lovettsville, VA. She was the daughter of the late Eppa Raymond Frye and Florence Mae Virts Frye. She was the wife of the late John "Ham" Hahn whom she married on June 22, 1947.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Blanche was a very dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. Blanche did not graduate but had several part-time jobs. The one she talked about the most was when she worked at the Newberry's Store in Brunswick. She often said she had a better education helping with the bookkeeping than she had at school. In her younger days she enjoyed going to Saturday Night Dances at the Eagle's Club. She also enjoyed playing bingo.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond Eugene Hahn of Hagerstown and John David Hahn of Charles Town; two daughters Bonnie Sue Winsett of Bryantown, MD; and Dotti Jo Smith and husband Dennis Ray Smith of Hedgesville, WV. She also leaves behind five grandchildren; Gary Winsett and wife Rachel, Dennis Smith and wife Jamie, Michelle Smith, Chad Smith and wife Beth and Neal Smith; also five great grandchildren; D.J. Smith, Maya Kegley, Ryan Kegley, McKenzie Smith and Hunter Smith. One sister, Lillie Almeta Frye Kelley of Lucketts, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John "Ham" Hamilton Hahn, brothers Raymond Phillip Frye, Clarence Eugene Frye and wife Pearl; brother-in-law Dickie Frye, two sons John Hamilton Hahn. Jr. (1947) and Dale Edward Hahn (2000); son- in-law Art Winsett and grandson Jeffrey Winsett.

The family will receive friends at the John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick, MD on Tuesday, November 29 from 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Lovettsville, VA. Rev. Gary Heffler will be officiating.

Pall Bearers will be her four grandsons Dennis Smith, Chad Smith, Neal Smith and Gary Winsett; nephew David Kelley and nephew-in-law Jack Redmond.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
