In memory of Mark Fincher

Mark Fincher, owner and photographer for Studio One, passed away April 2, 2012.

Fincher was a Pittsburg High School alumni and the contracted photographer for PHS. PHS was one of many schools within the region for which Studio One was photographer.

Fincher passed the weekend of PHS's prom, for which he does the photography. As well as photographing prom, Fincher's studio does the photography and editing for all sports, clubs and three sport athlete plaques, and a seasonal sport and pep squad calendar for PHS. As well as being entwined with his high school, Fincher and his company also took photos for the local YMCA, family photos, senior photos, or for various events. For over twenty years, Fincher took photos for these activities and became acquainted with many of the coaches and students.

"Fincher would talk to everybody as they were best friends," Defensive football coach Darin Kelley said. "With the jokes that came with his humorous personality, it was impossible for you to not like the guy." Many would say a big part of Studio One's success was due in part to Fincher's unique personality.

"He was always willing to help with a smile on his face," Fincher's granddaughter Caitlin Hall said. "He loved his job, and was constantly looking for ways to improve or new things to try." Fincher has left behind a loving family, a successful business, and a wide range of friends and acquaintances he gained throughout his lifetime.

"Fincher's extremely sad and unfortunate death creates a void that probably won't be filled," Athletic Activities Director Doug Hitchcock said. "His light hearted, joyous persona will always be in memory and forever missed."
