Loving God, his family, his church and his community...that was Cedric's life.

A proud patriot, who served in the army during WWII. Serving in 5 countries in Europe and being discharged in 1945, he came home to continue his service. He managed to find many places of service while having a long career as chief electrician with Superior Oil company and later, opening his own company, Magnolia Electric Company. He was a charter member of the Magnolia Lions club, served the educational community as member of the Magnolia ISD Board of Trustees, was a charter member of the Magnolia Area Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Tomball Hospital Board of Directors. He proudly served as the first Mayor of the growing community of Magnolia. A proud moment in his life of service came when the Magnolia ISD named a school in his honor, and he was always there on the first day of school to welcome the children back. Great joy came in serving at First Baptist church of Magnolia as a faithful member and deacon. Serving in many areas, positions and responsibilities, he worked hard, long and joyfully to see his tasked completed...

He was preceded in death by his son, Cedric David Smith, his parents, Robert and Macie (Chandler) Smith, twin brother, Sewall Smith, Sister, LaRue Gayle, brothers, Dean, Robert, Clyde and Toby.
