Mr. Dale Gilmore Coleman 81, of Hurley, MS passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at home with his family by his side. Mr. Coleman was born on May 13, 1932 in Hurley to the late James Edison and Dorothy Moak Coleman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a lifetime member of Hurley United Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by two sisters, Inez Woodcock and Mary Joy Cumbest.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Norma Brooks Coleman; sons, Gerald (Elaine) Coleman and Harold (Sandra) Coleman; grandchildren, Stephen (Jennifer) Coleman, Amanda (Tate) Marcinkowski, Chad (Cyndi) Coleman and Jamie (Travis) Motes; great-grandchildren, Alexandrea Coleman, Cameron Coleman, Cathryn Coleman, Jackson Marcinkowski and John Houston Motes; siblings, Rev. James F. Coleman, Jean (Jerald) Goff, Joan (Charles) Caraway, Virginia Emerson and Peggy (Johnny) Gunter; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hurley United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 beginning at 11:00 am with Rev. Ben Barlow and Rev. Tom East officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Hurley with Chad Coleman, Stephen Coleman, Richie Jones, Jerrod Jones, Bobby Goff and Doug Johns serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be George McDonald, Jimmy Brooks, Harvey Cumbest, Sonny Brooks, Casey Goff and Carl Brooks.
