Karen H. Alexander

Karen H. Alexander of Lambertville Michigan died Friday June 7, 2013 in Toledo Hospital at the age of 68.

Karen was the daughter of Hugh and Marion Hutchinson Haury, moving with her family from Akron OH to Hazelton PA, where she attended Hazelton High School.

She was a graduate of the Germantown School of Nursing in Philadelphia PA followed by several years as a surgical nurse at Temple University Hospital then as a civilian nurse at Quonsett Point Naval Air Base, RI. She and her husband Kenneth settled in Monroe County MI where she began her twenty–five year career as librarian and playground supervisor at St. Mary's Elementary School Monroe MI retiring in 2010.

Her memberships included Congregation B'nai Israel Sylvania, OH and BSA Troop 566 Committtee Carleton, MI. Preceding her was her father Hugh and infant daughter Kirsten.

Surviving are her husband Kenneth S. Alexander, daughter Kimberly A. Alexander, son Kevin C. (Mary) Alexander of Kansas City, MO, mother Marion Haury, sister Patricia Bonazzoli of Fort Collins, CO and grandchildren Caitlyn, Anna, Brady and Clara.

Services will be held Tuesday June 11, 2013 at 2PM in Congregation B'nai Israel Sylvania, OH. Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery. A memorial reception will be held at a later date.

Memorial tributes suggested in the form of contributions to the American Heart Association and Congregation B'nai Israel.
