Walter "Sonny Boy" Carrier, 52, of Choteau, a ranch hand and saddle maker, died of an apparent heart attack Saturday at Teton Medical Center in Choteau.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gorder Funeral Home with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. His funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Choteau, with burial in Choteau Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Carrier of Choteau; daughters Tammy Mathews of Brady and Ashley Carrier of Choteau; sons Robert Mathews of Great Falls and Earl Fellers of Fairfield; sisters Laura Bastinelli of Nazareth, Pa., and Drena Lindgren of Choteau; a brother, Randy Carrier of Choteau; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sons Tommy Fellers and Donald Mathews, and his parents.
He was born Aug. 12, 1951, in Choteau, where he was raised and educated. He was a ranch hand and saddle maker.
He married Donna Ford on Aug. 13, 1982. He enjoyed camping with family and loved raising his granddaughter.
