During her life, she had worked as a bank teller to pay her tuition at Multnomah School of the Bible, where she graduated in 1948. It was during her time at Multnomah that she began her lifelong love and support of foreign mission work, especially in the country of India. She went on to work in rural missions throughout the Northwest with the Village Missions organization.
It was through her work with Village Missions that she met her first husband, Oluf Flolo. They married in 1953 in Tensed, Idaho. For more than 30 years, Lola worked in the Flolo Lumber Company, taught children's Bible classes and enjoyed her hobbies of gardening and reading. Oluf passed away in 1984.
In 1987, Lola married Winston Grant and became a beloved member of his large family in Harlan.
