Ray Eddis James, 81, of King George, VA (formerly of Pomfret, MD) died on May 27, 2013 at his daughter's residence. Ray was the son of the late Frank James and the late Helen Elizabeth Stevens James, and the husband of the late Davinia Ann Vandegrift James.

Ray was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Korea. He was a custom painter, mainly with Weaver Custom Painting in Waldorf, MD for 50 years. He loved being with family (daughters and grandchildren). He enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, eating, and the Redskins.

Ray is survived by his seven daughters, Davinia Ann Gilroy, Raye Ann Varns, Patty James, Deborah James, Sheila Riechert, Virginia Wikert, and Tammy Waterman; siblings Jack and Henry James and Shirley Guy; and 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers: Mike and Brandon James, Cecil Gilroy Jr., Garrett Waterman, Nelson Lara Jr., and Jamie Abell. Honorary Pallbearers: United States Army Guard.
