Obituary printed in the Kinsley Graphic, 11-22-1908:
A man by the name of Andrew Christensen recently arrived on his way from Texas to Missouri. He was taken sick and stopped with Harrison Smith. After several weeks he died and it was supposed would be buried as a county charge. It seems that he was a member of the Mormon church and requested that the elder of that denomination living at St. John be notified. This was done and the elder came over and made arrangements for the care of Mr. Christensen and when death took place came over and took charge of the funeral and made arrangements to pay all expenses not defrayed by the sale of the effects of the deceased. It seems that the people of this denomination are not allowed to become a county charge as the church takes care of them when for any reason they are not able to take care of themselves.
