Paul M. Gallaway, 87, died on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Marion VA Medical Center. He was born January 18, 1926 to the late A.M. and Ruth (Fraser) Gallaway. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Mary M. McKinney on February 2, 1947 and she preceded him in death on November 27, 2011. Paul worked at Bowman Construction and retired from Oak Hill United School Corporation where he worked as a school bus driver . While living in McCrory, Arkansas, he owned a Texaco Bulk Plant and was the city treasurer and clerk. From 1968 to the late 1970's he owned the Jonesboro Auction House. In the 1990's he partnered with his son Dennis in a used furniture store in South Marion. Besides raising their own children, Paul and his wife cared for 59 foster children. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Survivors include children, Paula Kay (Gary) Holleman, Dennis E. (Jann) Gallaway, Robert H. (Charlene) Gallaway and Emma G. Swarts; sisiter, Wanda (Howard) Porter; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren with 2 on the way;
He was preceded in death by his parents. A.M. and Ruth Gallaway; wife, Mary M. Gallaway; brother, J.C. Gallaway; grandson, Jeremy S. Gallaway; and great-granddaughter, Megan.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, Indiana and 1 hour prior to service at Faith Baptist Church.
Funeral Service will be at 10 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Faith Baptist Church, 3340 S. Lincoln Boulevard, Marion, Indiana. Burial will be at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.
