Thelma Graham, 75 Volunteer during World War II Thelma (Hyatt) Graham of Newbury, a former WAVE and turkey farmer, died Tuesday of complications from leukemia in Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was 75.
Mrs. Graham was born in Pine Grove, Ky. During World War II, she became a member of Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, the Navy's women's reserve. She served in Portland, Maine, and was discharged as a seaman first class. During her time in the service, she met her husband, Philip A. Graham, a former minority leader of the state Senate, who died Nov. …... "
