Coulterville Republican - CUT DOWN IN THE MIDST OF LIFE - David A Hair, a young man, 38 years of age, died at the home of his brother-in-law, Mr James Lockhart, on last Monday, December 21, 1891, in the afternoon at 3:35 o'clock. Mr Hair took sick with La Grippe about the 20th of November, but was not considered dangerously ill until a few days before his death. The immediate cause of his death was La Grippe with a tendency to tyhoid fever, resulting in heart failure. His funeral took place Tuesday aftrnoon at 3 o'clock from the residence of Mr Lockhart to the Coulterville Cemetery. Rev J.R. Wylie preached the funeral service. Mr Hair's mother having died when he was nine days old, he was reared by his sister Mrs James Lockhart and made his home with her. When 16 years of age, he joined the Reformed Presbyterian (N.S.) church, Rev Bratton, Pastor and retained his membership in said church until the time of his death. At 25 years of age he was married to Miss Robenia McConkey, of Rockwood, Illinois, who lived but about five years after her marriage. Their son James L, who is now thirteen years old, survives his parents. On a visit to the bereaved family on Tuesday evening, our sympathies were touched by the almost uncontrollable grief of the orphaned boy. It is said that none were ever more thoughtful or kind in the family circle than Mr Hair. They now greatly miss his consel and comfort and deeply mourn his loss. In such dispensations of Divine providence as this, we can only bow in submission, trusting Him who has said that though we may not be able to understnad now we shall hereafter.
