Stephen was born on June 25, 1952 in Excelsior Springs, MO; to Thomas and Dorothy (Adkins) Armstrong. He had worked as a self-employed construction worker.
Stephen was a loving father, grandfather, son and brother to many. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and enjoyed the Colorado mountains. He cared for all people, even if it was a stranger; he would go out of his way to help those in need.
He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, Rachel Marie Armstrong; aunt, Darlene Armstrong and uncles, Benny and Jimmy Armstrong.
Survivors include sons, Aaron (Toni) Armstrong, and their son, Derek, St. Joseph; Tommy E. Armstrong, Ft. Collins; CO; Jonathon and Michael Armstrong; his mother, Dorothy Armstrong; 2 sisters, Judy (Reuben) Reyez and Pinie Armstrong; 4 brothers, Darrel (Maridith); Terry (Beverly); Roger and Butch Armstrong.
Mr. Armstrong has been cremated under the direction of the Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. A private memorial service will be held in Minnesota on July 6 and in St. Joseph at a later date.
