Sabra was the daughter of Louis B. Hardy and Bertha Rank. Bertha Rank. Sabra went to grade school in Jamestown, North Dakota and Livingston, Montana. She went to Brown Valley, Minnesota High School. She graduated in nursing from Asbury Hospital, Minneapolis, and did some post-graduate work on a hospital boat at Boston.

Sabra Hardy enlisted as a Red Cross Army Nurse, 10 December 1917 at Minneapolis. She trained at Camp Travis, Texas.

She died of influenza and pneumonia about a week after arriving at Mesves, France.

Circa 1920, her mother was Mrs. D.L. Perry living at Verndale, Minnesota.
