L. Ward Snyder Dies On Wednesday Night
Native of Springcreek Township Passes Away at his home on Second Street
A long siege of illness ended for L. Ward Snyder, age 62, with his death at 9:15 o'clock Wednesday night at his home, 510 Second Street. His death, resulting from complications, is a source of deep regret to an unusually large circle of friends as well as to the members of his family.
The deceased was born in Springcreek township, on the Snyder Road, April 29, 1873, the son of William and Mary Snyder and had resided in and near Piqua his entire life. On July 26, 1895, he was united in marriage to Oneta Swarts, who survives him. His last occupation was that of used car dealer at the Snyder and Hole garage, corner of Young and Downing Streets.
During his lifetime he was a devoted and loyal member or the United Brethren church, and ws affiliated with the JunionO.U.A.M.
Survivors in addition to his widow include his aged mother, Mrs. Mary Snyder living at White House, Ohio, and the following children:
Mrs. Ethel Hole, Mrs. Marie Slack, Mrs. Mabel Barnes and MRs. Marguerite Yohey, all of Piqua; Dale Snyder of New York. Other survivors are four sisters, Mr. Lillie Fessler of Piqua; Mrs. Susan Van Au of White House, Ohio; Mrs.Louise Wolfe of Dayton; Mrs. Bertha Barnhart of Wolcott, New York, and thirteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, first at the residene where short rites will be concucted, followed by a service at tow o'clock in charge of Rev. C. Snyder. Internment will be made at Fletcher.
