OBITUARY; Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Cowherd's Funeral Home for Charles PENICK, who died Thursday, 13 March {1947}, after a long illness {Chronic valvular heart disease, Dr. DISHMAN, KY Death Certificate #5561}. The Rev. V. A. JONES had charge of the rites and burial was in the CABELL Cemetery on the Mitchell-Webb Road. PENICK is survived by his wife, {Mayme (Sledge) PENICK}, an adopted son, Hansford PENICK, Greensburg; 2 sisters, Misses Minnie and Helen PENICK, and a brother Will PENICK, all of Green Co. {Obits of Green Co., KY, Vol. 9, compiled by Eunice Montgomery WRIGHT, p. 184.
