Son of the late John Reid and Kitty Reid of Teakley Street, Exeter, S.A. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 13 December 1915 and embarked at Adelaide for active service abroad on 25 March 1916 per HMAT "Shropshire" (A9). He was killed in action, aged 20 years.
