Storm Lake. He was educated at
Hayes School where he graduated in
1928. He then farmed with his
parents after high school, before his
marriage. Clayton married LaVema
Jones Dec. 9, 1941, at Dakota City,
Neb. He served in the U.S. Army
during World War II. After the war,
he and his wife returned to farming
for many years in the Alta and Storm
Lake areas. They retired in 1974, and
moved into Storm Lake.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Survivors include his wife; two
daughters — Rita and Roger Peters,
Lake View; and Pat and George
Vebsky, Cedar Rapids; two sisters,
Margaret and Harold Cook,
Schaller; and Lucille and Marvin
Christensen, Gilmore City; one
brother — Alan and Mildred Saathoff,
Storm Lake; and two
grandchildren.
