There is no death record for Mary Jane. Her son Walter was born in January 1867, then Winston remarried in August 1868. The cause of her early death is not known. Her children Mary and Walter can be found in the 1880 census with their father Winston and their stepmother Ophelia Williams Ellington. Winston's children moved to Greene County, Arkansas in the 1880s, but he and Ophelia remained in Tennessee.
