George R. Skipper, 60, of 116 C. Colonial Drive, Shillington, died Sunday morning (Feb. 16, 1986) at 7:10 in Reading Hospital where he had been a patient since Feb. 4.

He was the husband of Miriam J.(Jones) Skipper.

Born in Wilmore, Cambria County, he was a son of the late Edward and Melissa (Aul) Skipper.

Mr. Skipper had been employed as an auxiliary operator by the parish division of the Dana Corp. for 37 years before he retired in 1984.
A World War II Navy veteran, Skipper was an auxiliary deputy sheriff for the Berks county sheriff's department, and a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Reading.

In addition to his widow he is survived by a son, Steven A. Skipper, Kutztown, and a stepson, Jeffrey S. Schenck, Reading; two stepdaughters: Susan G., wife of Ward Reese, Sinking Spring, and Karen B., wife of Timothy Ebbert, Mount Penn, and four grandchildren and five step grandchildren.

Three bothers, Charles of Reading, Robert of Laureldale and Russell of River View Park. Also five sisters; Nillie widow of Fritz Gechter, and Dorothy wife of Harry Crist, both of Kenhorst, and Ruth, widow of James Templin, Laureldale, and Audrey, widow of Joseph Szwaczkowski, Mount Penn and Thelma wife of George Halulakos, Wyomissing.

The Airedale Funeral Home, Inc., Shillington, is charge of arrangements.

On the 16th inst., George R., husband of Miriam J. (nee Jones) Skipper of 116 C. Colonial Dr., Shillington, age 60 years.

Services from the Airedale Funeral Home Inc., Shillington, Wednesday at 10 :30 a.m. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call Tuesday 7 to 8:30 PM. Memorial donations may be sent to the Heart Fund, 525 Elm St., Reading, PA 19601.
