Betty Jean Dawson, 76, of Sedalia, died Wednesday. May 30, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center. She was born January 5, 1936, in Cole Camp, a daughter of Louis and Cora Mae (Peek) Priesmeyer On April 27, 1973, in Sedalia, she married Leonard H. Dawson, who survives of the home. She was a 1954 graduate of Cole Camp High School. She worked at Unitog in Warrensburg and was a housewife. She loved to garden, sew and collect wind chimes. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Linda Demus, of Johnson City, TN, Carolyn Jean Miller, of Versailles, and Terry Allen O’Dell, of Calhoun, three brothers, Harvey Priesmeyer, of FL, Delbert Priesmeyer, of AR, and Larry Priesmeyer, of Sedalia; four sisters, Velma Suetter, of Independence, Patsy Dawson, Shirley Colvin, and Donna Bishop, all of Sedalia; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; a son, Martin L. O’Dell; two sisters, Kathleen Priesmeyer and Virgie Fox; and a granddaughter, Christina Salmon.
