Guy Weldon McIlhaney was born on June 8, 1909, in Hamilton, Texas, his father, James M. "Jim", was 41 and his mother, Elizabeth Bettie (Hardin), was 39. Guy and Vela Jewell (O'Dell) McIlhaney had three daughters with between 1931 and 1938. He died on February 22, 2001, in Lorena, Texas, at the age of 91, and was buried in Waco Memorial Park, Waco, Texas. Guy was a Baptist and in his retirement travelled constructing in the missionary area.
