Marion Emrich, 96, died at Oakdale Heights assisted living home in Redding.


Born in Colorado, she moved to Shasta County in 1998 from Washington.

She was a research analyst for the U.N. Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, an administrative officer for the Library of Congress, a private importer and publisher of the children's book "The Child's Book of Folklore" in 1947.

Suvivors include daughter Eugenia Hared of Lewiston, four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
