Charles A. Brennan, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Jeannette and Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at his home. He was born July 6, 1923, in Greensburg, a son of the late Joseph and Edna (Altman) Brennan. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and he was a graduate of Jeannette High School. Charles had been employed by the American Cancer Society. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Renelda (Houser) Brennan; a sister, Dorothy (Brennan) Whigham; and two brothers, Joseph and John Brennan. He is survived by a son, Joseph F. Brennan and wife, Margaret J., of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Michael J. Brennan, of Pittsburgh, Molly Brennan-Jones and husband, Ryan D., of Falls Church, Va., and Bridget E. Brennan, of Greensburg; a great-grandchild, Ava Elizabeth Jones; also his companion, Louise Firestone, of Mt. Pleasant, and her family; and several nieces and nephews. Charles' family wishes to thank the Excela Health Latrobe Hospice for their compassionate and caring ways during his illness. Family and friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Bede Church in Bovard with Father Justin Withrow as celebrant. Private interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1011 Old Salem Road, Greensburg, PA 15601. Terence L.
