Mrs. Mary Rosetta Aldridge Hickox, age 82 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away Wednesday, June 5th, 2013 at the Senior Care Center in St. Marys, Ga.
Mrs. Hickox was born on November 26th, 1930 in Blackshear; Ga. She is the daughter of the late Richard and Stella Strickland Aldridge. Mrs. Aldridge is a 1947 graduate of Hoboken High School. She was married to James Edward ‘Hoppy' Hickox in Waycross, GA. on December.3, 1948 and they shared 61 years of life and love until Mr. Hickox's passing in September 2009. Mrs. Hickox was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker of all her married life. She was a member of the Kingsland First Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her best.
Mrs. Hickox is survived by her sons, Dennis Hickox and his wife Sherri of Kingsland, and Joel Hickox and his wife Kathy of Jacksonville, Fl.; her sisters, Linda Harris and Edith Roberts of Waycross and Jeanette Allen of Tallahassee; her brother, Robert Aldridge of Waycross; her grandchildren, Brooke Hickox and her companion Jamal Jacobs; Tucker Hickox and his companion Katy Moran and Lauren and Rob Barker; and her great grandchild, Carter Bady.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Hickox was preceded in passing by her husband, James Edward ‘Hoppy' Hickox, and her daughters, Joyce and Delores Hickox.
Calling hours for Mrs. Hickox will be from 6 to 8 pm Friday, June 7th, 2013, at Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held starting at 10 am Saturday, June 8th, 2013, at Kingsland First Baptist Church in the old sanctuary with Pastor John Jenkins presiding. Interment and committal prayers will follow the service at High Bluff Cemetery near Waycross, Ga. at 1 pm.
