Ethel Chapman Bennett, 90, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at White Oak Estates. Born July 27, 1922, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Luther Grady and Sara Hughes Chapman and widow of Claude Everette Bennett.

A devoted daughter, wife, and aunt, Mrs. Bennett was a member of Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church. She attended Spartanburg High School and Converse College. She enjoyed her family, cats, and baking cakes for others.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Hilda Chapman and Ruth Bennett, both of Spartanburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jack H. Chapman and Robert L. Chapman.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 8, 2013, in Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church Cemetery, by the Reverends Mac Kinnett, Traci Bennett, and David Ervin. Visitation will follow at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church Benevolence Fund, 3450 Cannon's Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
