Funeral services for Mr. Asa Coger Higbee, 61, were held Wednesday, October 7, at New Highland Baptist Church, with the Rev. D.E. Jones and Rev. Bill Day conducting the service.

Burial, under the direction of Sturgeon Funeral Home, was in Garnettsville Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Clyde Hubbard, Curtis Fackler, Alton fackler, Billy Martin, Homer Richardson and William Richardson.

The son of John and Maggie Reesor Higbee, he was born in Meade County, April 24, 1903. He is survived by his three brothers, Hubert and Gordon of louisville and Edward of Vine Grove, and his sister Mrs. Pauline Ritchie of Guston.

He is also survived by his wife, Mrs. Tella Poole Higbee; two sons, Chester of Brandenburg, and Raymond of Louisville; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Berry and Mrs. Thelma Curl of Guston, as well as nine grandchildren.

Mr. Higbee was a farmer in Meade County until his retirement in 1959, when he and Mrs. Higbee moved to North Ft. Myers, Florida. He had returned for a visit with his children when he became ill and died Sunday, October 4, 1964 at St. Joseph Infirmary in Louisville.
